Preparation time: ½ an hour                                         Cooking time: ½ an hour
Serves: 4 to 5
Ingredients:
Channa dal              -       ½ cup              Red gram dal   -       ½ cup
Moong dal               -       ½ cup              Urad dal          -       ¼ cup
Masoor dal              -       ½ cup              Turmeric powder    -       ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder    -       ½ tsp               Coriander powder   -       ¾ tsp
Garam masala  -       ½ tsp                       Tomato           -       2
Onions            -       3                               Salt – as required

Grind together
Grated coconut – 5 table spoons
Ginger             - 1 inch piece
Garlic              - 5 to 6 flakes
Green chillies  -       4

For tampering
Ghee – 5 tsp

To garnish
Coriander leaves & curry leaves

Procedure:
Cook dhals in a pressure cooker with enough water and turmeric powder. Cut onions and slice tomatoes. Heat ghee, fry onions till transparent. Add tomatoes and fry for another some time. Mix cooked dhals, ground mixture, red chilli powder, dhania powder and salt. Cook another 10 minutes till raw smell gord. Toast jeera and garam masala in hot ghee and pour it in dhall. Garnish with coriander and curry leaves. Serve hot for rotis and pulkas.
